OFFICIAL RMXP UNLIMITED RULES Last Updated: December 20, 2007 * The following rules are subject to changes at any moment, but a warning will show on the main site when they do * Ignorance of a rule will not justify an infraction * These are the same rules that are posted on Creation Asylum, and were made by Dubealex. We're just using them with his permission. INDEX: (A) Information (B) How those rules are presented to you (C) To whom and where those rules applies (D) How punishments / warnings are given based on the rules (E) Special circumstances (F) How to report an infraction committed by a staff member (G) How to appeal or challenge an official decision (00) Rule of Conduct / Philosophy of RMXP Unlimited(The Master Rule) (01) E-Drama (02) Flaming (03) Trolling (04) Necro-Posting (05) Spamming (06) Bumping (07) Alternative account (08) Post content / Material provided (Attachments / Images / Links) (09) Illegal material / Illegal activity (Crack / Hack) (10) Adult material / Sensible material (Politics / Religion / Sex) (11) Signatures and avatars (12) General posting rule (Netspeak / Leetspeak / Language) (13) Offsite Rule (Outside Behaviour / Activity) (14) Free speech limits / Ranting limits (15) Dispute solving between members (16) False accusations / False appeals (17) Minimum requirements for an RMXP project topic (18) Request, solicitation and ad rule (A) INFORMATION: "I" / "Me" refers to Emily_Konichi/Marked, the root administrators of RMXP Unlimited. "We" refers to the general community of RMXP Unlimited. "You" refers to a single member; "you" refers to the reader, not you personally. "The Staff" refers to the entire staff group of RMXP Unlimited. "Post" refers to any form of communication a member might have within RMXP Unlimited. If you have any useful comments about the following rules and information, contact me via Private Message on the forum. Do not post a topic on the site. (B) HOW THOSE RULES ARE PRESENTED TO YOU: The rules will be structured in different paragraphs, and the order in which they appear does not imply any sort of priority, each and every rule is to be followed with the same kind of respect. Each paragraph presented will contain as much information as possible to explain the rules and the situation in which they exist. Sometimes, I will give a link to a website with a deeper definition of a rule; remember that the definition that other website will give does not necessarily completely reflect RMXP Unlimited’s vision of that rule. I am giving that link so you know what Internet users generally think of that rule. (C) TO WHOM AND WHERE THOSE RULES APPLIES: The following rules apply to every members of RMXP Unlimited, including the Staff Members and Admins, and the Sponsors. Those rules applies to every section and features of RMXP Unlimited, may it be topics, comments, blogs or even Private Messages. (D) HOW PUNISHMENTS / WARNINGS ARE GIVEN BASED ON THE RULES: When a rule is broken, a punishment or a warning is issued by the Staff. If multiple rules are broken, the warnings / punishment for each rules add up (so multiple warnings/punishment are given). Many different form of punishment can be issued, those punishments are known as "Steps", and there exist 5 of them, as follows: Punishment Steps: Step 1: A personal message issued by the Staff as a soft warning, not compiled in your profile Step 2: A Warning showing in your profile with a comment Step 3: A posting restriction for a certain period of time Step 4: A suspension for a certain period of time Step 5: A ban Which punishment is issued is based on the infraction a member committed; there are 4 levels of infraction per rule in RMXP Unlimited, as follows: Infraction Levels: Level 1: Minor incident, or indication of an incident or infraction coming Level 2: Small infraction Level 3: Big infraction Level 4: Intolerable infraction A level 1 infraction result in a step 1 punishment. A level 2 infraction can result on either a step 1 or 2 punishment. A level 3 infraction can result in either a step 3 or 4 punishment. A level 4 infraction can result in either a step 4 or 5 punishment. Here's a table illustrating this scheme: Infraction Levels Consequences: Level 1 Infraction = Punishment Step 1 Level 2 Infraction = Punishment Step 1 or 2 Level 3 Infraction = Punishment Step 3 or 4 Level 4 Infraction = Punishment Step 4 or 5 Escalation is also a factor in how and when a member can be punished. This is why punishments are known as "Steps". If a member commits 3 level 2 infractions, the punishment steps are incremented at each infraction, so the member could receive a step 4 or 5 punishment; even if a level 2 infraction usually result in a step 1 or 2 punishment. The Warning system of RMXP Unlimited is a way for the Staff to give warnings and comments to a member that committed an infraction. The warning system consist of a percentage that increments by steps of 10% at each warning given. The escalation factor is based on those warning level; here's an example: You commit a level 2 infraction, and a warning is issued by the Staff in your profile, this was your first infraction, thus your warning gauge is now at 10%. If you commit another level 2 infraction, your warning will be increased another time, thus now at 20%. When 2 warnings are already issued, the escalation factor kicks in, since after 2 warnings, you are supposed to have learned to behave correctly. If you commit another level 2 infraction, your warning might be raised 1 or 2 times depending on the infraction, and the punishment steps will be increased based on your warning gauge. So escalating means a mere level 2 infraction might result in a step 5 punishment (which is a ban). Here's some more information on how escalating works: Infraction Levels Escalation: *Remember that a level 2 infraction does not always result in a warning. But anything higher than level 2 does. *The following list is how many warning levels you go up for 1 infraction of each level, not taking into consideration your past/current warning gauge. Level 1 infraction: No Warning Given Level 2 infraction: +10% ~ +20% Warning Level 3 infraction: +30% ~ +50% Warning Level 4 infraction: +50% ~ +100% Warning Which punishment steps you are at can also be based on escalation, as follows: Punishment Steps Escalation: Step 1: Warning Gauge is empty Step 2: Warning Gauge is between 10% and 20% Step 3: Warning Gauge is between 30% and 40% Step 4: Warning Gauge is between 50% and 80% Step 5: Warning Gauge is between 80% and 100% (E) SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: There exist some special circumstances under witch a certain member can automatically be banned and/or deleted from the database. When a rule contains one of those special circumstances, it will be specified. Example: Any Alternative account created by a member, and used in conjunction with the official account, will be deleted from the database. (F) HOW TO REPORT AN INFRACTION COMMITTED BY A STAFF MEMBER: If a Staff member commits an infraction of any level higher than 1, please, contact every administrators with the same Private Message using multiple recipient. If the infraction is of Level 1, you can use your own judgement and either send a Private Message to that staff member, or send it to the administrators too. Also make sure to send a link to the post in question, include a quote/copy of the infraction, and you could also send screenshots. Consequences will then ensue and if legitimate, punishment will be issued. *Remember that reporting false accusation against any member, including the staff, is an infraction by itself and will result in the according punishment. (G) HOW TO APPEAL OR CHALLENGE AN OFFICIAL DECISION: If you feel like you have been punished wrongly, or too severely, you can make an appeal; which is a challenge to an official decision made by the Staff. You have to send your appeal via Private Message to every administrator as multiple recipients. Your Private Message must be clean, respectful and mature, if its not, it won't be considered and you might not even get an answer. If, in the other hand, your appeal sound legitimate and found, it will be posted in the Staff forum where deliberation will ensue and a verdict will be issued. You will be contacted via Private Message by an administrator with the verdict. A verdict issued after an appeal is a final decision, and cannot be appealed a second time. *Making un-found or non-legitimate appeal to an administrator is an infraction by itself, and will result in the according punishment. THE RULES OF RMXP Unlimited: (0.0) RULE OF CONDUCT / PHILOSOPHY OF RMXP Unlimited(THE MASTER RULE) (0.1) WHAT IS THE RULE OF CONDUCT If you follow this rule, you should not be able to break any other rule. This rule is called common sense, it’s called being friendly, it’s called being forgiving; it’s the philosophy of RMXP Unlimited. RMXP Unlimited was created to accommodate more than just RPG Maker; and that was like that from the get go. The first goal of RMXP Unlimited was to provide a friendly environment for members to exchange information, material and have fun, and it is still that goal that drives RMXP Unlimited today; so, as a member, your duty is to encourage this philosophy so that RMXP Unlimited can stay like what it should be. If somebody flames you, you should not flame that member back. The best weapon against fire isn’t fire; its common sense water should be used. Stay calm, answer with respect and intelligence, and if you can’t, just restrain yourself from posting. Not answering to flaming or answering without flaming isn’t letting yourself be beaten or had by another member, you are rising above that other member, and all the other members will notice that you are the better one, after all, you can control yourself. If you are stuck in an E-Drama event, do not add more drama over and over again. The best solution when stuck in quicksand isn’t to move like crazy; it’s common sense you should stay calm and think your way out. Just stop taking everything too seriously or personal on the forum, just stop harassing other members, RMXP Unlimited isn’t a war zone for your personal problem to be exposed and probed by everyone. If you post in the Frustration Room or the Pub, you should expect post contrary to your opinions and beliefs, if you can’t accept those different points of view; do not post your problems on the forum. Please, use common sense; and be friendly. (1.0) E-DRAMA (1.1) WHAT IS E-DRAMA E-Drama stands for Electronic Drama, and refers to a situation in which a single person or multiple parties either over-dramatize something, take something too personally; or something was too personal to be publicly presented in RMXP Unlimited. E-Drama can (but is not always) the cause of flaming, but is more dangerous in the sense that E-Drama is like quicksand; once members are in it, it can be hard to get out; and it expands dramatically as it has a tendency of pulling new members in, just as flaming. There is no quick example of E-Drama, because E-Drama is generally created by a sequence of events or post, that when added to one another, ends up being E-Drama. E-Drama mainly consists on elaborating too much on a subject in a personal manner, taking the situation too seriously. E-Drama is usually an endless fight or debate in which other rules are broken; such as flaming. If E-Drama is stopped, flaming will be down considerably. (1.2) CONSEQUENCES OF E-DRAMA E-Drama can be more complex to spot; the best way is to end it before it expands. For most members, using common sense is enough to insure no E-Drama is started or maintained by one's post. But for some, a rule must exist, and consequences must ensue. What is and isn't E-Drama could be different for different members, but in the end, it is the Staff that has the final word on a dispute. E-Drama is usually started / maintained by multiple members, so every members participating into an E-Drama event are guilty; and will receive warning(s) relative to their infraction(s). There are usually 2 opposite parties in an E-Drama event, one against another. Whoever started it in the first place will not be debated nor will be an issue when giving punishment; participating to the event is what will be taken into consideration. The infraction level you will be at will be decided based on how much your post helped the expansion of the E-Drama event. (2.0) FLAMING (2.1) WHAT IS FLAMING Flaming is when you trash another member; it’s when you insult another member or another member’s work without positive criticism. Flaming can escalate just as easy as E-Drama does, because flaming is also based on opinions. The way you express those opinions to others, the way you explain you are against someone point of view, the way you reply to someone most still be respectful whatever the situation is. If you can't answer to someone without trashing their opinions, you aren't worthy of posting that reply. You can find out more about flaming here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_%28Internet%29 (2.2) CONSEQUENCES OF FLAMING Infraction level is based on the intensity of the flaming event, and the amount of post containing flaming. The harsher you are, the harsher the punishment will be. (3.0) TROLLING (3.1) WHAT IS TROLLING Trolling is the action of posting material on the forum with the sole purpose of creating chaos, starting flame wars or any other negative event. Trolling is worse than engaging into a flame event, because your intention was to create chaos in the first place. You can find more about trolling here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29 (3.2) CONSEQUENCES OF TROLLING Infraction level for trolling are quiet simple, we do not welcome troll at RMXP Unlimited. If you start a topic/add a reply and the staff’s feels it’s trolling, you will receive a level 3 infraction on the spot. (4.0) NECRO-POSTING (4.1) WHAT IS NECRO-POSTING Necro-Posting is when you post a reply in a “dead” topic; a “dead” topic is a topic that was inactive for a relatively long period of time. In RMXP Unlimited, a post is considered a necropost based on the same criteria as the Spamming rule (explained in point 5), except the spam was posted in a “dead” topic. You have the right to reply in any topic that isn’t closed on RMXP Unlimited, for as long as the replies you are posting add valuable information to the topic. Also, before posting in a dead topic, you have to make sure there isn’t already a newer topic about the same subject. Never reply a mere “Thank you” in a dead topic, because that is considered to be Necro-Posting. Simply put, never reply to a dead topic unless your post will be adding valuable information or content to the topic. You can find more about Necro-Posting here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necropost (4.2) CONSEQUENCES OF NECRO-POSTING Necro-Posting in itself isn’t a big offence, but the content of the necropost can still break other rules, and this will increase the infraction level if this happens. Your first necropost will result in an infraction level 1, but the second one will result in a level 2 infraction. Breaking another rule in a necropost will change which level you are at. If you continue to necropost after that, your infraction level will simply go up as you escalate the warning gauge. (5.0) SPAMMING (5.1) WHAT IS SPAMMING On RMXP Unlimited; there are 2 types of spam. The first one is when a member or a group of members creates a lot of new topics/replies with the sole purpose of disrupting the normal order of things. The second type is when a member or a group of member post un-valuable and usually short or ridiculously long post in a topic, without helping the subject at all, with the purpose of disrupting the normal order of things, or to add to their post count. When the majority of one’s posts are very short, un-valuable and un-necessary, that person is called a spammer. SPAM is also seen as “Stupid, Pointless, and Annoying Message” – Which is a good description of what is spam. Be sure to read the “Special Circumstances” point for more information about Spam on RMXP Unlimited. (5.2) CONSEQUENCES OF SPAMMING Spamming with the purpose of adding to your post count will result in a level 2 infraction. Spamming again will increase your escalation level, but we will also reset your post count to zero, so spamming is useless to add to your post count. Spamming with the purpose of disrupting the normal order of things, like posting too many new replies/topics one after the other, will result in an infraction level 3. (5.3) SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR SPAMMING A certain degree of “Spam” is part of RMXP Unlimited’s culture; these degrees of spam are the small topic drift and funny comments posted mainly in the Pub area. Some area of the forum doesn’t tolerate this kind of “fun” and “accepted spam”; those sections are the somewhat serious sections, like the RMXP section (Scripts, Tutorials, Etc). When you get used to RMXP Unlimited, you will get used to making the difference between the two. (6.0) BUMPING (6.1) WHAT IS BUMPING Bumping can be seen as Necro-Posting, as a matter of fact, it’s almost the same. On RMXP Unlimited, a bump is the action of posting a reply in a relatively active topic (not “dead”), with the sole purpose of bringing that topic to the top of the list to get attention. On RMXP Unlimited, you have the right to bump a topic only once per week, and if after 1 month, your topic is still not getting attention, leave it die. Or your bumping will become Necro-Posting. If you add valuable information to your own topic, like adding a reply to a script topic to specify a new version is out, it’s fine and isn’t against the rule, it is what is seen as a valid bump. You can find more about bumping here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bump_%28Internet%29 (6.2) CONSEQUENCES OF BUMPING Bumping isn’t a serious infraction. A level 1 is usually issued, but if you bump too much, it can escalate easily, as it can be seen as spamming or Necro-Posting. (7.0) ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNT (7.1) WHAT IS AN ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNT An alternative account is when a member already has an active account on RMXP Unlimited, but creates another one anyway. If you already have an active account, you do not need another one, and you should not create another one. (7.2) CONSEQUENCES OF AN ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNT The consequences of an alternative account are based on what you will do with it. If you never use it, we might never notice it, and there is basically nothing serious about that. But if you are using your alternative account to lure members into thinking you are 2 different members, you will receive a level 3 infraction on the spot, and your alternative account will be deleted. (7.3) SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR AN ALTERNATIVE ACCOUNT If a member returns to the forum and feels like he or she needs to start over with another account, if that member is welcomed back, this can be done. But his or her other account(s) will have to be deleted, with all of the content those account ever provided to RMXP Unlimited. Only 1 account will be used and you will be known by only that 1 account. (8.0) POST CONTENT / MATERIAL PROVIDED (Attachments / Images / Links) (8.1) WHAT IS THE POST CONTENT RULE On RMXP Unlimited, you have the possibility to provide more than just text within your post, you can create links that leads outside the website and you can post images and upload your own material for others to download. All of those are regulated by this rule. You cannot provide material that is against a rule of RMXP Unlimited; meaning that if you provide a link that leads outside the website and what is present on that other website is against our rule, you are liable for providing that link and will receive the appropriate punishment. The same thing applies to images and uploaded attachment. (8.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR BREAKING THE POST CONTENT RULE The infraction level you will be at will depend on which other rule your material broke. You will have to refer to that rule to know what will be the punishment. (8.3) SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES ABOUT THE POST CONTENT RULE We understand that you cannot always be aware of the content provided on another website. If you give a link leading to another forum’s topic, and that topic later becomes a flame war (that was started by the members of their community), you aren’t liable for that; but you might be asked to remove / modify your link. (9.0) ILLEGAL MATERIAL / ILLEGAL ACTIVITY (Crack / Hack) (9.1) WHAT IS THE ILLEGAL MATERIAL / ACTIVITY RULE Providing illegal material, providing illegal information or engaging into illegal activity on RMXP Unlimited is forbidden. This rule is simple, anything that is illegal on the Internet and in the real world, whatever has a real law about it, is also illegal on RMXP Unlimited. This includes copyrights law and piracy. (9.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE ILLEGAL MATERIAL / ACTIVITY RULE The infraction level will be based on the material / information provided, but is a level 3 minimum, and can easily go to a level 4 and result in an instant ban. (10.0) ADULT MATERIAL / SENSIBLE MATERIAL (Politics / Religion / Sex) (10.1) WHAT IS THE ADULT/SENSIBLE MATERIAL RULE The adult material rule is pretty simple, you cannot provide any material containing pornographic / erotic nature; may it be audio, video, images, text or links. You are free to discuss those materials in a clean manner, but you cannot be too explicit, or post links leading to explicit materials. I am open to some degree of free speech and fun, but RMXP Unlimited is still an “all age” accessible place. If you start a discussion relating to such sensible material, you have to put a warning in your first post, and in the title of your topic. The sensible material rule is about all the other sensible material you might provide, mainly about religion and politics. Those subjects aren’t forbidden, and it is not against the rule to talk about them. But when you start or participate into such discussion; be aware that this kind of material or discussion may easily lead to differences in opinions, and then leads to E-Drama or Flaming. Be mature when you participate in such discussion, or you will be punished accordingly. (10.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE ADULT/SENSIBLE MATERIAL RULE Posting / Providing adult material or links will be punished by a level 4 infraction, and probably an instant ban. Starting a topic about adult subject(s) without adding a warning in the title of your topic and in your first post will result in an infraction level 2. (11.0) SIGNATURES AND AVATARS (11.1) WHAT IS THE SIGNATURES AND AVATARS RULE The signatures and avatars rule regulate what is ok to put as signatures and avatars. Basically, you cannot provide content within your signature or avatar that will break any other rule of RMXP Unlimited. (11.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE SIGNATURES AND AVATARS RULE The infraction level for breaking this rule will depend on which other rule you broke. (12.0) GENERAL POSTING RULE (Netspeak / Leetspeak / Language) (12.1) WHAT IS THE GENERAL POSTING RULE The general posting rule regulate how you present your post, how you will write it. Using leetspeak on RMXP Unlimited is forbidden unless it is translated in the same post, or if it is used in your signature or avatar. Leetspeak is to use symbols or a combination of letters and numbers to replace the actual alphabet. Like “l33t” means “leet”, because the number 3 is similar to the letter E, and is then substituted for it. * If only 1 or 2 words are written as leetspeak, and your entire post is still readable, you aren’t breaking any rule. Using Netspeak or Chat-Speak is tolerated if used moderately. If your post is easy to understand, and still contains all the required elements to form a sentence in the English language, it is tolerated. Example of what can be tolerated: “C ya”, or any other small saying within your post. But if you write the majority of your post using Netspeak, you will be breaking this rule. You must write your post in English, RMXP Unlimited is an English forum. If you write in another language, at least provide the translation within your post. The only place on RMXP Unlimited where you are allowed to speak another language is the “Translation & Foreign Language Forum”. We understand that your first language might not be English, as many of ours isn’t; just do your best to write your post, and accept the correction of the other members if given. More about leetspeak can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leetspeak (12.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE GENERAL POSTING RULE Breaking this rule for the first time results in an infraction level 1; breaking it again will rise to level 2. (13.0) OFFSITE RULE (OUTSIDE BEHAVIOUR / ACTIVITY) (13.1) WHAT IS THE OFFSITE RULE This rule regulates what the members of RMXP Unlimited could do on another website. What you do outside RMXP Unlimited is none of our business, but if you are “attacking”, spamming or flaming another community, especially under RMXP Unlimited’s name, you will be breaking this rule. This rule exist for 2 reasons: The first is to protect RMXP Unlimited’s reputation, the other is to insure that RMXP Unlimited will not be attacked by another community as retaliation. This rule is also there to remind you that even if you have quarrels with another member on another community, you should never bring those quarrels to our site. If another member flamed you on another website, if another member was terrible to you on another community, it is not an excuse to do the same to him or her on RMXP Unlimited. *Also, use the same common sense in reverse situation, for the sake of other commnunity. “What happens in Vegas; stays in Vegas.” (13.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE OFFSITE RULE Breaking this rule will result in an infraction level 4. (14.0) FREE SPEECH LIMITS / RANTING LIMITS (14.1) WHAT IS THE FREE SPEECH / RANTING LIMITS RULE This rule is basically there to remind you that you are allowed to free speech, but you must stay within the limit of the rules of RMXP Unlimited. You cannot flame other members, other communities, or other people’s work. (14.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE FREE SPEECH LIMITS RULE Breaking this rule will result in the same infraction as the flaming rule. (15.0) DISPUTE SOLVING BETWEEN MEMBERS (15.1) WHAT IS THE DISPUTE SOLVING RULE As a community becomes larger and larger, we can’t expect everyone to like each others. It is certain that some members will have quarrels and arguments; those quarrels are what this rule regulates. The last thing members should do when in a quarrels is to break a rule of RMXP Unlimited, such as flaming; because if this happens, everyone who has broken a rule will receive the according punishment. If someone is on your case, or a group of members, simply report the post and add clear comments with the report as to what is going on. If there are multiple posts to read to understand the situation, you will have to do your homework and specify yourself in the comments of the report all of the topic and post IDs that you are talking about; we won’t search for you, we have already a lot of work to do. *Save your report comments on your computer for future reference. If the situation continues without being resolved after 1 or 2 weeks, send the same message to every administrator. (15.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE DISPUTE SOLVING RULE Breaking this rule will result in the same infraction of the rule you will have broken, may it be E-Drama or Flaming. (16.0) FALSE ACCUSATIONS / FALSE APPEALS (16.1) WHAT IS THE FALSE ACCUSATIONS / APPEALS RULE This rule is mainly based on the rules F, G and 15. To provide false accusation against a member or a group of members is forbidden. Also, making repetitive and false appeals each time you are punished for something is against the rule. (16.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE FALSE ACCUSATIONS / APPEALS RULE Breaking this rule will result in an infraction level 2. (17.0) MINIMUM REQUIREMENT FOR AN RMXP PROJECT TOPIC (17.1) WHAT IS THE MINIMUM PROJECT TOPIC REQUIREMENT RULE This rule regulates what is the minimum content you have to provide when you create a new project topic in the RMXP forum for your topic to be valid. Here’s the minimum requirement for a project topic: - The game storyline / The game synopsis
- The game’s main characters
- The Script(s) and System(s) your game will be using
- Full credits for anyone who was involved in your project or used content from
- Some screenshots of your project (Not a necessity, but should be present)
- The team making the game, if any
If you don't have enough time to post -all- the info, don't make a topic until you do. Your topic should also be structured a certain way, so that it is easy to read and understand. Use different paragraphs to divide each point listed above. More about the minimum requirement and some example can be found here: http://www.creationasylum.net/index.php?showtopic=10816 (17.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR MINIMUM PROJECT REQUIREMENT RULE Breaking this rule will result in your topic being closed or deleted, and an infraction level 1. If you continue to post topic without the minimum requirements, you will receive an infraction level 2. If your topic was closed or deleted, you will receive a warning by private message (which will be the infraction level 1 punishment); you will then be able to create a new topic containing the minimum requirements. If you topic was closed, once your new topic is created, contact the staff member who warned you so he or she can delete the old topic. (18.0) REQUEST, SOLICITATION AND AD RULE (18.1) WHAT IS THE REQUEST, SOLICITATION AND AD RULE This rule regulates how request(s), solicitation(s) and ad(s) can be made in the forum, especially via Private Messaging. Do not send request, solicitation or ad via Private Message to a member; you can do this ONLY if that member specified he or she accepted to receive such Private Message in a post. If you want to request something, use the forum, create a topic or reply to a topic. You have the right to contact a member to request permission to use his or her work if that information isn’t already posted in his/her topic. But you cannot send a private message asking to create a script, for example, to a member if that member did not specified he or she accepted request in the forum. (18.2) CONSEQUENCES FOR THE REQUEST, SOLICITATION AND AD RULE Breaking this rule will result in an infraction level 1, and if you did it with multiple members, it will rise to level 2, and if you continue, you will also be breaking the Spam rule, so the infraction level will rise quickly.
