Room for improvement

Hey all,
As some of you may or may not know, I volunteer some of my time to a small 2D online game called Return to Gaurdia. Lately, however, it seems like game activity has dropped significantly. Some reasons I've received/noticed for this happening are:
  • Not enough updates (this is a big one)
  • Players get bored
  • Start of the game isn't very helpful for newer players (no tutorial)

My reason for bringing this here is to maybe try getting more feedback on how we can improve the game. Anybody who creates a new character will receive compensation in-game for participating in the study. Some things I ask you to think about are:
  • What is there to grab your attention?
  • What can we do to KEEP your attention?
  • What do you like about the game?
  • What do you DISLIKE about the game?
  • What do you look for in an ORPG (Online Roleplaying Game)?
  • Is the game too confusing?
  • Is there enough for you to do?

Please let me know if you have any questions/comments, and if you decide to create a character, please post your in-game name here so you may be rewarded.

Shiny's XP Windowskin Workshop

I'll be taking requests for Windowskins. Below are a few examples of what I have done so far, some of them are old and some recently made. To request a windowskin, simply follow instructions below.

  • Color(s)/Theme
  • Cursor Style/Color(s)
  • Border Style/Color(s)
  • Reference Picture(s) (as needed)


Information

  • Color(s)/Theme ~ What color(s)/theme do you want the Windowskin to follow? (Hexadecimal/RGB values for color helps, but is not necessary)
  • Cursor Style/Color(s) ~ Do you want a special cursor for when in battles? If so, what do you want it to be/what color(s)?
  • Border Style/Color(s) ~ This is the border that is created around the window. If you would like a special one, what type, and what color(s)?
  • Reference Picture(s) (as needed) ~ If you have a Title Screen for your game already, and would like it incorporated into the windowskin, here is where to say. Reference pictures also help for custom cursors.

Virtual Synthesizers

Hey all,
So last month, my friend gave me a midi keyboard so that I could learn how to play synthesizer...my question for you guys is: are there any good, easy to use, free VSynths out there? I have a couple of decent VSynths already, but would like more...the ones I have are "Oddity" (Arp Odyssey) and "impOSCar by GForce" (OSC OSCar)

Hey all,
It's been ages...Just wanted to say that I'm back for real this time...while I may not be as active as I once was, I will be resuming work on my project(s) as soon as I get a legal copy of RPG Maker (should be soon :3).
I've been very busy getting my life back together over the past year, hence part of the reason for my large drop in activity. Still working on getting a job (I have a resume now!), I'm no longer in a toxic relationship, been improving a lot with my drawing/graphic art skills, I'm completely off of meds as of a month and a half ago, and looking to get my own apartment soon. I'll make a blog post about my adventures in life soonish...just figured I would come back and say...

So I may not be as good at drawing, photography, or computer graphics as some of the rest of you, but I've been told that I'm quite decent.


The design of what I'm hoping will be my next tattoo...no tracing involved :D
