I keep coming across a few missing images here and there, which look like they are supposed to come from the site. Not really a big deal.

I have my Image Placeholders turned on because I do some website design stuff, so its quite noticable. Just pointing out in case you didnt notice. I actually like the main style of the site looking a lot more unique than so many other forums out there...

I haven't got any issues yet with missing images.

Occurs on both IE and Firefox. Though, like I said, I have Image Placeholders turned on. If you try to grab the URL's of one of those images, do they show up for you?

They are missing for me also. They could be leftover links from a skin maked had before.

That sounds pretty reasonable. The placeholders do still show up, but if you have placeholders turned off, as most people do, they probably wont notice.
