I do believe you mean "race", but my first character is gonna be a Nord, only because it's SKYRIM, home of the nords! I'll be playing all races eventually, but first one will be a nord

Alright, first I'd be a Nord barbarian/fighter-ish guy, channeling Conan, Beowulf, Buliwyf.. just because.. well, it seems the right thing to do. After my first playthrough is when I go for the wacky/crazy.. Orc Mage ftw. :)

I would have to go as a Imperial swordsman with 2-handed weapons, light armor and healing magic.

I have mostly always played as a wood elf since Morrowind, but I feel that the land of Skyrim demands something more brutish. I will play as an imperial, because of balances my love of simplicity with strength. Plus, theyre the most regular human-like race, and it helps for immersion.

I am always an Imperial with the basic sword and shield combo, no magic (being a pure mage in past Elder Scrolls games were a little disappointing.) and finally I can put a damn beard on the guy. Any 'magic' I use would mainly be enchanted weapons/armor and maybe a healing spell.

Anyone else have this weird enjoyment of waiting until you're the highest level possible and then go back to wearing the lowest/mid tier armor and weapons? I always found strange ways to artificially make games more fun for me.

I will be getting this for X-mas on PS3. I'm not sure which I would be, but wood elf seems to fit me perfectly. :)

Its a shame it wasn't online, but oh well!

Well, went with the whole 'Scandinavian' theme of Skyrim and made a Nord. Still on the Sword and Shield combo but I'm looking into focusing on Destruction spells as well...and hell, while I'm at it I might as well join the Companions. Already fought a few dragons (awesome) annnnnnnd got lost while exploring...then preceded to get one-shot by a Giant.

Been playing as a Nord at first on the PC with mostly sword and shield combo but I went back on the X-Box and made a Redguard. Been using a lot of dual wielding magic or sword and shield with light armor. Fought and killed three dragons. (Friggin epic) Then went exploring and hunting, got mauled by a troll lol. Also been following the main quest mostly.
This game is amazing. Buy it now.

P.S - Don't touch the Giant's mammoths.

Does each race have a set of weapons they can only use, or can each race use whatever? If not, which Elf uses sword? :C

Any race can use any weapon or armor. The only difference with races is the look and ability's. Once in a while you may run into a place you cant enter unless you are a certain race(or kill).

Oh man, sounds awesome! I thought it would restrict weapons and armor to race, glad that's not so. :D

*Then I will definitely be a wood elf lol*

I started as an Imperial, but once I did the starting fire spell and saw how powerful magic was, I switched to a High Elf, and use my destruction spells to kick arse.

You can switch races? Or do you mean create a new character...?

So guys...my sisters are trying to scare me by saying the game will be terrible and will need to be returned. I'm pretty confident that I will enjoy this game very much, but I was wondering, your reviews? Is the game worth a X-mas gift along side a PS3 320 GB Uncharted 3 Bundle? Posted Image

It is definitely worth getting. I often don't hop on my 360, but I have spent the majority of my free time now, running through the vast landscape of Skyrim. It is quite a magnificent game.

Then I shall keep it on the list! Its a shame it isn't online -- could make all the decision making and beautiful world even better. I hope they patch it in the future or offer a new version that goes online! lol

I hope you don't get overwhelmed easily lol, everyone I talked to gave me a quest of some sort. There's just so much packed in this game, I'm 60 hours in, level 39 and haven't even done the main quest aside from killing my first dragon. I just started pursuing the Dark Brotherhood and through reasons unknown (no spoilers here) I'm a werewolf now. I recently got done doing a Hangover-esque quest and revealed a Vampire conspiracy in a small town.

(Sorry for the double post...I didn't want to create another Skyrim thread)

Anyone still playing? I finally sat down to learn the controls. At first I didn't like it, but around Riverrun (?) I started to like it, now I'm hooked. I am a wood elf as well. Kinda creepy face, but oh well. I just defeated my first dragon -- really sad! -- and couldn't find Jarl, so I wondered around, fought some thieves, one green skinned one was too strong so I saved and turned it off.

I have a feeling some people here probably slayed more than 5 dragons. :(

I still play. 80 hours in and I still feel like I haven't done anything. I'm a level 72 Nord werewolf melee user. Yeah I have (as well as others most likely) killed a lot of dragons, but just when I need them to unlock shouts I can't find them anywhere lol.

My guy is named Ragnar, after Ragnar Lodbrok (He's a (if not the most) legendary Viking in real life) :3

It's quite a transition from Oblivion 'cause It feels like so much has changed, even the controls feel a bit different, but once you start playing more you get used to it.

You're actually doing the right thing if you're just running around getting lost - the game is all about exploration. If you get lost, just go with it. The quest markers will always be there in case you need them. Otherwise my advice would be to just pick a direction and go forward. You'll always find something.

I haven't played since I ran out of things to do on my second play through had to re-map a lot of the controls since I was so used to playing Oblivion. It still is a great game but until Skyrim's Creation Kit is released I still prefer Oblivion, hurray for mods. Oh, anyone know anything about release date for creation kit soonest I heard was February even though it's practically finished.

@UrHappyPlz:
Always find something? That is very true from what I've played. xD Caves, monsters, dragons, trolls, wolves, spiders, thieves, elementals (?) and bears. Love this game to death!

@mxmmix:
Wood Elf then? We need to unite!

@RageMage:
Creation Kit? Guessin' that's a way to mod? Will it be avalible for PS3?
