Hi all,

There have a considerable number of changes to the forums. Most notably the prefix system has been abolished and there is now individual game making engine forums (the forums with icons). The sub-forums have not been fully decided yet.. I'm too sure how specific we will get there.

Secondly there is a "Gamers Corner" category for gaming topics. Its noticeable at the moment because its empty. Against my morals, I have also created a forum for minecraft *shivers*

Lastly, if your resolution is greater than 1028-ish (on the x) then you will notice a layout change. I have changed the forums from fluid (ie 100%) width to 960px wide. Looks probably worse to me but, this theme's time is limited anyway.

I am also hoping the forums load faster. I have reduced the number of queries loaded on the board index and also globally on the forums, so I really hope it loads quicker.

Yeah :) These changes are all pretty spontaneous... the result of procrastination at its worst. Feedback/criticism?

It think -- for now anyways -- the fewer subforums the better. :3

I really am liking the change, when I first saw the size difference it was a shock ;D at 1920x1080 it looked far smaller than before, but after a few minutes I really like it

Also the specific video games and game maker sections are great, especially if guests are visiting as they can immediately identify the section they're looking for (mainly because of the icons for game makers ;) ) (you left Nintendo out)

edit: yes, the forums do laod faster, a LOT faster for me on FireFox - it used to take 2x or even 3x as long as it does now

Just a heads up, I had to refresh my cache (F5), so if the width hasnt changed, do that, lol

also, the resolution youre thinking of is 1024 pixels wide, not 1028. boom.

Yes as other said the forum does load faster on IE browser as well. I like the icons you added to the forum as well as the new subforums.

Also I guess the forum project is offically dead AGAIN since i don't see the subforum for it any more. Unless I'm missing something.

Okay I feel stupid, thank you for telling me that.

Yuuus. I happy I was able to make it quicker. The integration with the website as well as the recent posts hook (which I just modified) was making it pretty slow.

4 pixels out pffft I bet you looked that up.

I did that early on the week upon consent from Noob Saibot. I've still got the topics though.

Also I was trying to wait for these topics to be finished, but I realized I couldnt do it in the near future. But if you replies in them, that would make it a lot quicker to finish: http://www.rmxpunlim...starters-guide/

Didnt look it up, resolutions are common knowledge to me, as I design static websites, so I need to know them, lol.

I'm not too into fluid width websites, unless its just a forum or something.

I used to think that fixed websites were stupid. My reasoning was, why not have it stretch the entire page so it looks the same for everyone? Then again, it was only this year I bought a laptop with a resolution greater than 1028. And got a job as a web designer. Boom.

I think we should have one forum for video games. There is no need for Xbox and PS3 to have different forums. One forum will appear to be more active than many.

I actually second this, since most games come out on both systems anyway, and sometimes even on the Wii as well.

It's not a matter of dropping it, but adding to it. Plus adding to the content as well. I say start an Article Team for the site...or something near that.

This will most likely happen if they get no action, which they haven't thus far. But we gotta at least give it a chance. There are entire websites on these things, so I figured since its so related to what we're about that people would surely use them.

I think you may have Kiriashi on your side there. However, this is the standard fixed-width for websites, and I'm sure you've run into ALOT of them. So unless you're just not used to the change on this site, you may make a topic in the feedback forum and make a poll, and if you members want the fluid width back then I'll change it back. But seriously this width is so common that I find it strange you can't stand it.

I have a question, why doesn't Nintendo get a section but Minecraft gets one? To be honest Minecraft is more of a PC subdivision then anything.

The answer is that it was a spontaneous change and im not a gamer. Kiriashi or Pol can deal with fixing that up or removing them until I get back. I won't be user a computer till November coz of exams.

For now, I think the minecraft section is kinda pointless. When forums and subforums are reworked, a more broad game discussion system will probably be in effect.

Well, I just got a new computer that goes beyond 1080 resolution, so I guess I don't see much of a difference.
