This looks great. I can tell you put a lot of hard work into this starter kit. Do you plan to make one for VX?

This is extremely impressive, and I am rarely impressed. Great job to whomever worked on this. Its a real masterpiece in itself.

Welcome! :D We thank you for your comments! Your comments always inspire us to continue. We are a team with scripter, mapper, eventer, etc, which is international (the members of Project Zelda Engine's Developing Team are from Latin America, Australia and Europe.). We are not planning anything for VX, as since Enterbrain scrapped away the way tilesets work, it is pretty difficult to create a Zelda Engine for it. RPG Maker XP, despite being older than VX, is more friendly in terms of mapping and covers better the needs of a Zelda game. Thank you again! :) We will keep updating the topic, about upcoming changes and features of the Engine, etc. Everyone is welcomed to tell us his critic or his approval of the Project Zelda Engine.

The Project Zelda Engine also has pages, on 4 other websites, outside of RMXP Unlimited.net, just to help people and gamers find it easier :)

ABS systems arent exactly my cup of tea, if you know what I mean, but this is pretty dang good. a full team? I congratulate you on not only doing something I never can, but also making a starter kit with (mostly) custom graphics. you deserve this meme:

I might use this eventually, though.

Amazing! I had never wanted to dare moving into the realm of Zelda games, as it is very very complex, but you just made it simple and easy enough for me to try dipping my hands into it. :alright:

I have created as many item sprites for the Project Zelda Engine as possible, inspired by the items seen in several Legend of Zelda games.

Here I am showing you a comparison of the sprites of items, (made by me), with the real items seen in the Nintendo's official Zelda games!

I hope you like them :D

This is pretty awesome! I tested it out, it *seemed* to lag a bit, however I never fully tested it or really messed around with it.

I personally wouldn't use this, only because I am not one to make fan games and also would be more keen on developing my own scripts for my games; however I do believe this could benefit MANY users! I am actually kinda shocked this is the first time I've seen a zelda starter kit! Zelda is one the best standing series evar :D

Good job! And send my regards to the team.

Hehe, aye, we are deeply sorry for the lags in the Project Zelda Engine, and we have found what was the cause of it (3 different text outline scripts running at same time.) Out team fixed it and optimized it. And soon, the new version of PZE with the lags addressed, will be released to the public! :) Here is a beta of the upcoming update (not released in public yet, its just only a beta), which gives a taste of the performance improvements (over +20 FPS), in case you wanna try it: http://www.4shared.c..._Project_Z.html Tested on over 7 different PCs, and the results are very pleasing! :D

EDIT: kellessdee, you will, also, in that beta archive I am giving to you, have a tast of the new menus by Night_Runner! You can navigate from one menu to other by pressing PAGE UP / PAGE DOWN and you can Zoom-in/Zoom-out the high-resolution World Map with the SPACEBAR key! Enjoy! :D

Awesome! A lag fix is really the only thing necessary, and 20+ fps sounds like the perfect amount :alright: I will try out the new demo once I get a chance.

Hehe, interesting news here. While I am not someone who yells that the Zelda games are the best in the world - even if I believe it or not :D - I found something interesting: the world's most popular 43 videogame magazines/websites from many countries in the world, (at least 32 of 43 in total) rank the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as the #1 Best Game of All Time in the list of the top 8 best games in the world...

All the magazines of the world rank which games are the best games of the world:
http://www.filibuste...s.com/games.htm

OVERALL RANKINGS (all the 43 videogame magazines:)

1 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (32 out of 43)
2 Super Mario 64 (26 out of 43)
3 Tetris (25 out of 43)
4 The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (19 out of 43)
5 Street Fighter II (18 out of 43)
5 James Bond: Goldeneye 007 (18 out of 43)
6 Super Mario World (14 out of 43)
7 Final Fantasy VII (13 out of 43)
7 Resident Evil 4 (13 out of 43)
8 Final Fantasy III / VI (12 out of 43)
8 Super Metroid (12 out of 43)

Ah, this is like amazing. I downloaded it but I'm getting an error once I try to start the example game it comes with. http://imageshack.us...21/errorhq.png/
Any help?

EDIT: Scratch all that. I got the game to work but now when I start it up and select new file, the game goes to the loading screen then shuts down.
HALP!

Ahhhh, you get the same error as the other players. It will be fixed with the upcoming Update Patch 3. In meantime, just open the game, go to Script Editor, scroll down the list of scripts until you find the "Credits" script. Here, in the first lines of the Credits script, change the font type from "Default" to "" (empty). You are done. Save and run the game. Enjoy! :)

As I said at RRR, in smaller words, this has to be one of the best kits/projects I have seen thus far for any RPG maker, ever. I love how much time, effort, blood and sweat you put into this. I couldn't test it because I don't have space on my PC right now, so it has to wait. But it looks amazing. As soon as I test it out, I'm gonna come back and better express my impression of awesomeness. :33

Great job and good luck in the future! :D

Very strange. Can you give us more info of what happens? Just the game closes? Without warnings or errors?
Try this beta version of the upcoming update patch 3. It has much faster loading time. Try it and let me know if it works for you :)

and I only found this topic now... This is like an absolute dream for zelda games!!! I'm really impressed, looks amazing, and has had a lot of hard work put into it which I think is the most amazing part. To work in a team and produce a finished product to this standard, it should give inspiration to yourselves and to others out there :alright:

Just I noticed that I have some time to post any news about our progress with Project Zelda Engine. Just in case you wanna know, in Project Zelda Engine, we are doing a good process and are improving several aspects of the engine. Here is a picture of the new and improved File Display screen (where Load/start a new game), which now it is much more improved than before :)

Quick question, though: will the kit eventually have more enemy sprites (like Ganondorf, Ganon, Volvagia, and others from OoT, WW, TP and so on...)?

Well, there will be some Boss sprites in Project Zelda Engine, as we plan to create some dungeon bosses for the players to test in the engine. Those bosses can be used by the gamers as example for the creation of even more bosses for their Zelda games..
