There could be a hollow behind a wall that it's spawning into so dig around the area.

i've been digging everywhere, but nothing has happened. i might still need a bigger space, its still kinda small. It's right under the entrance hall, so i don't want to dig up

yeah, its a lot darker in the video. its a creeper spawner. for gunpowder harvesting

Theres no creeper spawners in the game. Theres only Pig, Zombie, Spider and Skeletons by default unless you made edits and found a way to make a creeper spawner. If you placed the spawner by your self then its a pig spawner and requires light to spawn pigs.

You can only place pig spawners.

ok so it lookes like you moded the game with a tool. Not sure why its not working then. You might have to contact who ever made MCEdit.
I know for a fact spawners by default can only spawn Pig, Zombie, Spider and Skeletons. I mod minecraft left and right i know what can/cannot be done.

i didn't mod it, it must have secretly come with the update. "MCedit Alpha 94"

yea then you will only be able to spawn Pig, Zombie, Spider and Skeletons as far as i know then. So that could be why its not spawning anything. try adding light and see if it will spawn a pig.

yeah
but now i have a working dungeon. the creepers blew up the spawn point though. don't know how thats possible. i'll just put in another one.
