Hey guys,

It's a busy time at the moment and despite having an apprentice in the works, I have a lot of projects all over the place which I have not been fully loyal to...

In order to prioritize I need to which you guys want the most.

New Homepage: a homepage which shows more than just the news, such as all the various content sections across the entire website to keep you up to date, and (maybe) real-time content appear on your page as it happens. Read more here: http://www.rmxpunlim...mepage-concept/

Clubs/Projects Component: A new section for your projects: including media management (screenies/video/demos) and more defined/organized project layout. Also with an emphasis on preserving/finding projects (through advanced searching and sorting features) and also on team management/recruitment. New Chatroom: I've been meaning to develop a new chatroom for a while (or at least give it a try) that was less resource intensive as the current one (of course it has crashed the site various times by exceeding the mysql query limit). I have a demo to show you guys... but don't be put off, I can improve its speed and also the online list was just an experiment (needs to be fixed). Fix the shop already so we can all donate points & Fix the download manager: I just threw these in because I've decided to make the poll multi-choice. Hopefully you guys will vote once between 1 and 4, and then again for either 5 or 6.

For the new homepage, I wouldn't suggest Newgrounds because it's a little messy to me. The games are all over the place and it just doesn't look organized to me.
The Clubs/Projects component is what I'm truly looking forward to. I plan on having a page for Black Silhouette.
The tileset maker is cool, but I use VX mostly so it's not a major thing to me. But I would love to see it completed.
I just tried out the new chatroom and it looks awesome but a bit empty. Are there going to be options and stuff like the IRC one?

Ah I see I suppose the concept of the homepage is naturally a bit messy. In fact its not truly what I want to do. Back in November/December when I worked full time during summer I developed plans for a new site to replace this one and the main feature there was a dashboard as the homepage where the content is specific to that user. Topic prefixes make this more possible, but also we'd introduce a tag system and then relate you to what tags you're interested in. It kind of like facebook in terms of the limitless types of content that will appear on your dashboard, and of course, many filters. Its all about making accessing the content you're interested as fast and easy as possible. Also I'm thinking of the ability to choose from a limited range of options where you're homepage should be. For example if you access rmxpunlimited.net, it will redirect you to, say, rmxpunlimited.net/forums/new_posts for example. But that is definitely not going to be a feature until we get some real options for homepages, for example, they will all be displaying content just filtered differently to show what you want to see when you arrive here.

As for the chat, yes of course there are going to be many more features. That's just the beginning of it, I only worked on it over 2 days.

I say clubs/ projects componant is a favourite, tileset maker is also epic and should be finished =D but If I were to choose one, then the Clubs/ Projects Componant would scrape it

I still have an IRC channel set up for RMXPU, it is on the irc.synirc.net server, and the channel is #rmxpu if we move the chat to IRC based.

I just looked at the Club/Project page, it looks really nice! I like the description you can add and the videos
And the Tileset Maker...well, I already showed how much I love it.

In order for us to have a successful project club, we need to have the download manager fixed. It would be useless to have clubs if people can't download our games on the site.

I was thinking about actually making a separate uploading system for the projects.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Despite clubs being a clear winner in the posts, the tileset maker came out the winner followed by clubs.

At the moment I am working a forum clean up, clearing out non-essential and old database entries and files on the server. After that I'll restart work clubs, but it will probably take some time to make. I'm back at uni full time next week and I am thinking of rewriting a lot of my current progress.

I dont really care about a new home page, but everything else sounds good, the downloads manager, arcade, and other stuff at the top should be down by the home, forums, engines, resources, and other buttons though

Its been working perfectly for me.... I did notice that games that were uploaded and messed up in the past(aka Rebirth) still doesnt work, but I guess that is a acceptable loss if the new files do not currupt.

My humble opinions are that, based on the purpose and type of community site this is that the download manager and clubs/project components would be the most crucial to what people who come here will want to do, with the tileset maker a very close third.

One thing I wanted to suggest though/find out if its possible, was the ability to link a forum post to the 'current project' section of my profile, so when people are looking at things I've(and others) have posted they can easily click the current project listed and be linked to a forum post about it on RMXPU.

Along the same lines, it would also be nice to be able to link the 'services' section to a forum post as well. So people who offer services can actually link them from their profile info to a forum post they created about the services they offer.

This would allow people to easily check out what others are up to and what services they offer, it would also play well into the clubs component idea, allowing you to link to a club from the mini profile info displayed on forum posts.

All of these suggestions will be included in a new profile system, which is going to be rewritten and 'developers' profile.

I made a topic yesterday you can post your other suggestions in.

As for the things in this topic, I will get to them eventually. I honestly do plan to complete these, but it will take me a long time. Unless someone wants to employ me to do it?
