Thank you for the compliment! Yeah those attacks were meant to be like a surprise attack, but they don't do too much damage if they do land. And with the time based hp recovery the fight really isn't as bad as I made it look on the video (I was super tired when I was playing that part!).

Here is a quick vid of some gameplay for a simple puzzle. Just tossing this out there since I'm getting real close to having the demo ready. It should be done before December is out.

Actually the latest demo isn't even out yet. Sorry about that! Posted Image
I should have a demo out before December is over though. I'm gonna try to keep it below 200mb when it's ready. Anyway, as soon as it is ready this will be the first place it will be posted!

Alright! As I said, I would have the demo out before the end of December, and now it is done! Unfortunately it is not the below 200MB that some of us might have hoped for... It's more like 524MB. So for whoever DOES decide to check it out, thank you and I hope you enjoy it! I will post it here until I figure out how to get the Projects page to accept the Game File.

Just played it and I died by that bloody doll thing in the office. It scared the crap out of me when it got up.
Great game. Not much RM games scare me like this one. Gonna keep playing.
Nice!

Also, I found a bug.

I have decided due to the size of the project that I am going to have it separated into multiple sections. The Demo that I just put out has been updated and altered to be the first part of Grave Prosperity Vol.1. At the end of the game there will be a save point that you will be able to use to continue the game when the next section comes out. The new Complete Game link is here:

I've been working on the second section to Volume 1 of Grave Prosperity and I have a video here that'll give a quick look at how the player will navigate the the world when playing Miki's part of the story as she investigates her sister's disappearance. After section 1's intro the two characters' stories run parallel to one another and the player will alternate between the two from time to time.

I've been busy for a little while now with this second section of the project but I finally have a video to show some of it's new features. Those of you who remember my old Helicopter Demo will recognize the system being used in this video:

Yeah I should have done that a long time ago when Mega Upload was first shut down, I just haven't bothered with it. But since someone is showing some interest I'll go ahead and get right on it. I'll have it back up by the end of today.

Here is the link to the new Download. I made a few small changes and fixed a couple bugs so the file size is slightly smaller now. Enjoy!

I hate to complain, however that download site requires me to log in or sign up in order to download from.
Is there anyway you could use one of the many free upload sites that do not require membership to download.

That sucks, I didn't realize that.. Is there any site that will allow uploads around 1GB for free? Not that the game is 1GB, but it is 524MB.

There is an excellent program called Dropbox, that allows you to do many things with file storage.
Their max capacity is 2.5 gigs, and by putting files into the 'public' folder you can a link and allow people to download the file.
I am sure there are other methods out there but I really like dropbox, and suggest you take a look. Credit goes to ForeverZer0, as I believe I read about the program in a post he made and have been using it since.
Heres a link to a guide to share files using that program. I tested it and works perfectly.(the option read 'Copy Public Link' however)

Sorry for the delay, Jon Bon, I got that drop box thing up. It's pretty handy. Here's the link to my Project:
http://dl.dropbox.co...1_Installer.exe

edit: I just tried the link above and the site isn't pulling anything up when I click on it. Is there a slight delay between using the desktop dropbox and the file's online availability?

Hey no problem at all, I assumed you were on top of it. Agreed, I love the program a lot.
Yeah, I have noticed a slight delay at times. If you are in a pinch you can manually upload files, rather than just dropping them, I believe this negates any delay. Mind you from what I can tell the delay is minor.
But, just so you know the file is working perfectly for me.
Glad you decided to try the program.
I can't wait to check this out. I'll post something here once I have.
-Cheers

*EDIT* I attempted to play it on my desktop running windows XP, and it appears I do not have the correct font. If possible can you give me the name of the font so that I may download it? In the mean time when the laptop is free I will try on there as I assume it has more fonts with Windows 7.

Uh oh, I knew I forgot to add something in the download file. I'm gonna update the file so it includes the font with it. I'm away from my computer right now but I believe I was using Times New Roman. It was either that or Arial. Which ever one isn't the RMXP default. I'll get that updated tonight, there's no telling how many other people have had the same issue.

There we go, I got it updated. Turns out the font was "Arial Black". It's included in the download file now.

Worked perfectly. I have played a bit, fought two or three baddies. Crashed shortly aftewards though.

The games works slow at times on my desktop so I am going to continue playing on the laptop. The missus is off school for the week so I may not have time to play soon, but after I get a chance I will post the bugs etc I found here. Plays amazing so far mate, loving it, definitely feel suspense as I was playing.

Great! Yeah you'll get some sort of "RGSS Player Has Stopped Working" error, or an "Unable To Create Sprite" error if you don't save and F12 every once in a while. I don't really know what's up with that. But it is kind of a large project so it probably puts a strain on the RMXP player.

I finally got grave prosperity setup on my laptop. I hooked up my PS3 controller and started a new adventure.

I got to the flash back part where she is in high school and the game crashed during the action scene! I was definitely think about it as soon as I was locked into the scene, you need a save before/near every scene.
But none the less, I am loving it so far, I was totally into it when it crashed...real spoiler below
Spoiler
I will probably get back into it tonight or tomorrow, as I have to replay a bit of stuff.
Cheers.

EDIT*
Got my missus to try the game, she loved it. I was watching her play and told her to save her medikit when she was fighting a minion, and she listened and died and was ultra mad. She totally felt like she was playing a commercial game. I just now told her I was going to right a small blurb to the maker about her playing the game, and she mentioned she was thinking about playing it again, but needed to study. She was even thinking about it so much that she told a friend at school about it.
So needless to say, it definitely has a polished feel to it. However, she only stopped playing the first time because of that weird crash. It makes it really hard to play and explore/take your time. Do you think you could maybe create a testing item of sorts that allows saving from your inventory so that we could save anywhere? Because playing is kinda like a race against the clock. 'Rush to a save before it crashes, then back track and explore'.
In any event, I love it. Has such a PS1 feel to it. I know many gamers friends who will enjoy it as well.

Wow that's a great response to the game! Definitely the best one I've read so far. Yeah I know what you mean about the frequent crashing thing, that's a real buzz kill when it happens. The only reason I didn't put a save anywhere option in was because it would take away from the "survival tension type feeling" while playing. But... I think being able play without the game crashing overrides that minor detail. I will definitely add in that feature and re-release the first part as soon as I put out the second part. Which brings me to my second point- I apologize for the crazy long delay between releases, this second part I have been working on is super in depth graphically and is taking a bit to complete. But it is nearly done now! I actually think I'm gonna split my progress so far and release it as the second part so the file size isn't so huge. If anyone would, please send some feedback on this idea because I'm seriously considering it. Large file size with an end to the asylum section of the game, or reasonable file size and a split during a sort of crucial point in the story? Maybe the latter would add a sense of suspense... Hmm...

I do think that's a good idea, to split the game. Maybe even have a recap of story events, so people who haven't played the first part in a while, can see what they forgot, and people who haven't played it at all will know what they missed and be more inclined to go back and play it.

I look forward to being able to play all the way through the first part and through the second part. Does the second part not have the same crash issue?

Ok that does sound like a good idea, I'll finish with what I've got going on and send it out as the entire second section. The second part through to the final part of the game wont be playable though without a save file from the previous game. It's the only way to save on file size, otherwise the game as a whole would come out being in the gigabytes range. And I know no one will be downloading an RMXP game that size. So far the project is twice the size that part 1 was. Part 2 will have the same crash issue- possibly worse than the first one simply because of the increased amount of action and cut-scenes. But the good news is that I will add in a checkpoint system so the player won't have to worry about crashes if they occur.

Sounds good.

Would you be able to include a save file in the second part, that way you can do everything you want, and people can still play the second part as a stand alone, just a suggestion. If you prefer players need to have a save file and play through the entire story I understand that as well.

There has got to be a way to fix that error. I strongly suggest looking into it and possibly posting a help thread regarding it if possible. In either case, love the game, keep it up.

I have tried finding a solution to the whole crashing issue on HBGames.org. I've had a few suggestions and one actually helped out a little. But I'm afraid I just have to accept the fact that I'm using an RPG Maker and I'm not exactly using it for its intended use so there's going to be some technical issues. I wonder if VX Ace would be a stronger engine?
