In anime an immortal enemy does not seem to be immortal. These so called immortal characters' bodies can be degenerated. Garlic Jr in DBZ had his stomach degenerated and I believe a few other body parts. This beats the purpose of being immortal. The heroes could just degenerate the entire body instead of just one area.

I think by Immortal they mean theyll never die until youre killed, but thats useless especially if youre the bad guys because youre gonna die no matter what
