[Okay, there are two titles I'm working on (well, not working on the other yet 'cause I need to learn) and this is the first one. I would like some criticism on it...but please, be nice ^^]

As some of you may know, I have another project thread. I did, at one point, have some tilesets I gathered from around the internet and made myself that resembled FFVI, but I lost my PC to a incurable virus. It took everything, so I had to start-over. I lost what I had for the FFVI thread. But with me making the tilesets and such, I will be able to work on it again.

This is my "real" project. Of my own creation. There will most likely be edits and stuff, but the basic plot is below. I'm working on the story-board for it, because even a game needs one. I will need to gather a few resources here and there, and have some made or make them myself, but this project will be possible, I think. :)

About the Game:

Long before the day the Sky Kingdom known as Alzar (Name subject to change as I had no idea there was a planet in Star Wars called Alzar xD) began war upon the Lower Land known as Almar, there once lived a powerful prophecy of an incredible powerful mage known as the Muse, born with powers said were made to destroy Worlds in the flames of the Black Moon, but the appearance of the Muse hasnn't been seen in over three hundred years, leaving the world ignorant of the true Prophecy and the Legends told of it, and only now does the world learn of the powers of the Muse and the Black Moon that surrounds their planet.

Hearing of the Prophecy before the war, King Nicole and the Ambassador gathered information regarding the Muse and the Prophecy, but while their sergeants gathered information about the Prophecy in Almare's greatest city, they and the fleet's generals are mysteriously assassinated.

With the new bloodshed between them, King Nicole called for war against them for purposely keeping the Muse and her power hidden and for the assassination of the nobles of Alzar.

Now, fifteen years after the start point of the war and the massive search for the Muse, the Lower World's cities began to crumble to poverty and the rulership of the Ambassador of Alaz, Lord Daneus.

To aid the King and the search of the Muse, a young man and his friends are sent down to collect the person known as the Muse¯. But a horrible future and truth awaits the heros.

(More detailed version later)

It sounds pretty good. The sky people should just throw stuff down at the Almar people if they don't like them... xD

Keep it up Crimson, I'm looking forward to some progress, especially maps. :)

And you should call the mastery elements affinity elements.

P.S. Happy Birthday Formlesstree4!

*I agree. Although, I would have dropped boulders on them instead lol

Thanks Kiriashi! I think -- but I'm not sure yet -- that I should use the AlphaZ templates for my game. They are tall, but they match the tilesets. The doors and beds and tiny objects like that are too small, but that can be edited. But then again...I'm not sure. I haven't started to gather the rest of my resources....

The reason I'm thinking it over, is that the maker (adopter) has a PSD. of all the clothes and stuff, so making my characters would be easy. I adore the style of the characters, but editing the pianos, beds, doors and smaller objects would be a pain... :s *sigh* I don't know what to do >.<

On Sunday, I'm gonna map for a while (about two hours if I can) to train before I start on my tileset rips. And then I'll go onto the story-board of Black Moon and then writing in my novel. I have a lot to do, but I'm confident that I'll be able to do it all in that day. :)

If I may ask, why "affinity" elements? I was going to open a thread for about naming a few spells and elements in my game, but I wasn't sure if I should make threads this early in my game lol

P.S. Happy Birthday Formlesstree4!

I'm just saying that affinity is a cooler word to use than mastery. Like Pikachu's affinity element is electricity. Pikachu's mastery element is electricity. Get it?

It's cooler..

As for the sprite template debate, that's up to you. Whatever you think is best. ;D

The game seems to be very promising. I like to see some screen shoots even if the maps are unfinished. It's good to see progress. :biggrin_002:

Well, I haven't really started on the game yet >.> I have a little opening, but I can't really advance on without knowing I'm using, ya know?
I need to learn how to properly map as well. I can't be a bad mapper and then publish my game. I'll need loads of practice ^,^

I'll try to work on my game a bit more so I can get something up on my threads C:

@Kiriashi:
Oh, I get it :>
Well, it certainly sounds better than just using "mastery" that's for sure :)

Hm, if I get the PSD file and see what it comes with, then I'll defiantly consider using them. I really do like the templates, but the tilesets will hold me back. Maybe I should do test runs with every tileset with those templates, to get a feel for how it will look?

P.S. Happy Birthday Formlesstree4!

Update! A sprite for the main character, Edgar, has been made! It was made by "Shiroiyuki", a person I will love forever ^.^
Now, just the girl and *maybe the guy needs to be done, and almost all resources have been completed! Well, not music, but I think I'll just use generator music or something, since I have no music maker >.>

Here is picture of him!

Update......! Sorta!

I need help. I'm finishing up my draft of the story line and I think its about time I start to gather graphics. I was playing on using non RTP, but I guess I'm sorta stuck lol

Anyway, before I continue getting graphics to make this sprite, I'd like to ask you guys something. Does the the guy to the right look like he goes along with the RTP Graphics? If not, should I try to make him look like he's RTP matching, or search over the internet for tilesets and such that match the blue haired guy? Which kind sounds impossible, but eh. I really love the blue haired guy's sprite, but I'm biased here and I can't tell if he matches or clashes. :/

Spoiler

(If you think he matches, I could try and find the template used for the blue haired guy *Edgar* and try to make the sprites myself...if not, does anyone know where to find the RTP guy's to the left, template?)

<I know the map is bad. It was done for a hurry. lol>

Really, that type of sprite matches RTP? Whoo >.>

The left arm? Lemme me check it out! Might be because I took it as he was walking down lol
Hm...maybe its supposed to? Is it really bad small? Or just small? When I saw it, I thought it was him swinging his arms in stance mode lol

Yea, it was done quick for a screenshot so I could ask others if it matched RTP :P

---

@Kiriashi:
If I can finish sprites that match Edgar (Blue haired man) then all I have to do is finish the storyboard, gather graphics (or make them....if I must, since there involves a lot of snow lol) and then maybe make NPCs and towns people. And then I can start :0

It doesn't sound like a lot and I can easily finish the Storyboard, but its the making that'll take some time. Good news though, I will have a lot more time free because I just finished my novel, although, four hours a day will have to go to making my language lol

I think this Sunday instead of ripping FF6 graphics, I'll try my hand at making a girl sprite in the same form as Edgar. Does...anyone happen to have the template he was made on, for both genders? :P

Oh...I meant "texted story board". I find it easier for me. I write basics down, descriptions of what the places should look like (of course with limitations in mind lol) and character interaction and basic movies/scenes.

Shouldn't I finish the storyboard first...? This is the first time I've ever decided to make a game, and if its anything like plotting a novel, then shouldn't the story board be made first and then scenes added?

I'm just asking cause I'm a novice to these things >.>

not necessarily
It all depends on what you have more of

If you have more scenes connect them together or make parts to fill in gaps in order to construct the story board

if you have more of the entire story board done, then plug in the scenes later

personally, prefer the scenes because the scenes I think about are what I definitely want in my story so I build my story around them
