Dragon Ball Z: Kai

http://dragonball.wi...agon_Ball_Z_Kai

So it is a remake and cuts out most of the useless stuff in DBZ. Like screaming long periods well powering up. I plan on watching.

EDIT/UPDATED

Alright after watching a few episodes of this new remake of DBZ I have come to the conclusion that I like the original one better. Maybe it is just me, but I like the original character voices and the so called enhanced animation looked the same if not worse then the original DBZ as well. Since it has been out for some time what do you think of it?

Sounds like they are trying to make it more interesting. It's still Japanese right? I see they're re-doing the voices and everything, which is pretty useless for us if we're still using subs.

Since there's no new material, I won't be watching. I got the entire thing at least twice back in the day when it was on after school.

I dunno, I really liked the show when I was younger, and I think the "useless" stuff you say
is in the show like powering up, etc.. was a great way to increase tension and get you on
the edge of your seat. My personal opinion is, I've seen the series many times over already
and I really liked it, but I'd rather have a really good story as opposed to special effects
and tons of action. Then again, thats just me. :shok:

Ohh, and if you want to watch a funny DBZ remake, look up DBZ Abridged on youtube.
Much laughter and floor rolling will occur. :haha:

Yeah, I don't think powering up really is counted as the boring parts. I may be wrong, but reading the article it said they're going to remove some of the filler parts. I didn't even know there were filler parts. And of course its going to follow the manga more closely. Hopefully that means no standing round talking to the enemy for 2 episodes before a punch is thrown....I remember getting so impatient watching them just standing around

I don't think powering up is boring. It should be done and not someone randomly looking different.

Well power up was a small example. If [people actually have seen the DBZ then an example would be:

Instead of Goku arriving on planet Namek in episode 54 or so, it happens around episode 30, and all the unnecessary screaming-while-building-up-power kind of crap is cut down. It's also remastered, so it's more vibrant, and the sound effects were also re-designed. Plus the Audio (voice) was rerecorded.

Personally, I enjoy the real Dragonball Z, but I will watch this when it airs. If only they would show Dragonball :(

A famous filler was when the fight between Frieza and SuperSaiyon Goku. Freiza said that he had set off a bomb like attack that would destroy planet namek in 8 minutes, but the fight lasted like 3 episodes.

well, it was showing different sides of the fight and explained a lot, plus, Frieza had to build up the energy needed to fit in the energy bomb, right? :)

This is not needed for the series. We have already seen this stuff before. Give us something new and fresh.

@CrimsonInferno:

Yeah but still . . . and something that didnt make sense(sorry if getting off topic) Goku had such a difficulty fighting Freiza, but Trunks straight pwned mecha-freiza,

Trunks had the advantage of knowing the Super Sayian power, plus he was at stage two and he got to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He had Gohan, said to be the strongest warrior in the series, trained him. That's enough reason why Trunks pwned Frieza.

Gohan lost a lot of power after the Cell Games. He was a joke later in the series.

I was tempted to watch this, but I'm not 100% sure If I want to (if it's a re-make of DBZ, then it might be interesting, maybe). Besides, it's coming out in america on Nicktoons Network. So they're going to cut out some stuff to make it "kid appropriate". Just watch the Japanese version in my opinion.

Wha?

Next to Goku (And GOku said with training, Gohan could be way stronger than him) Gohan is the strongest character. I would have liked it to be Trunks, Vegeta or Goten, since he is my favorite. Gohan is so strong because he honestly doesn't like to fight. He wants peace and love far more than Goku and he has a innocent soul. Its hard to explain, but there is a reason behind him being the strongest....

That is right. Gohan reaches his full potential when he gets the Z Sword. Gohan easily defeated Super Buu.

The sword wasn't the source of energy after all. Really, it was beyond that. THe idea of a object giving him strength made him stronger and training with that sword made him stronger.

And if we talk Alter Universe Gohan, he is even stronger. He taught Trunks how to go Super Sayian 2 without knowing his father could or how to himself.

If he was actually stronger than Super Sayian why did the Androids defeat him? At this point they should be no match for Gohan. The androids were no match for the Super Sayians at level 2 and beyond.

The Androids were designed after Piccolo and Goku, even King Piccolo. They had combos from every single fighter in the Tournament, they were gonna be tough. Gohan had just reached that stage (not just, just then lol), so he didn't know the full limits of his power. If he didn't lose his arm (because he became stronger after his arm was taken) he would have been able to defeat the Androids but instead, he had to defend Trunks, their only hope.

But if you talk real world DBZ, Vegeta was training in the Hyperbolic time chamber before and after he reached SS2. So he had become strong enough to full stop the Androids, but he grew cocky. And to prove my statement about Gohan being stronger than any other, we can't forget how he defeated Cell and Goku couldn't. Sure, Goku didn't even battle, but that's because he knew he couldn't do it. Goku knew how powerful his son was and how much more so, than himself.

Maybe at the end of the series, when Goku fuses with the Dragon, does he become the strongest. But then, 30-40 years later, he is even more powerful from breaking away from the Dragon. I do believe we see that in the last episode -- but anyway, my point is, throughout DBZ, Gohan is a lot stronger than Goku. :)
