Scrive 4.5 Update:

We released scrive 4.5 Release 5 today to fix the issue listed in our bug reports hopefully and to remove the organizer from the program.

Hey guys, some bad stuff has happened in real life for me recently, so I haven't even looked at Scrive in 48 or so hours. I don't know if we're going to release an Alpha soon or not, but 5.0 production (at least on my end) has abruptly stopped. I'm hoping that eventually, stuff will simmer down for me, but no guarantees. I'm hoping to release 5.0 completed at the end of June, and only release minor bug fixes after that.

Right now, I'm away from my compiling computer, which has Visual Studio installed, so currently, RMXPirate has the code and the ability to compile right now. So its up to him if he wants to release an Alpha. I do know there is one feature he's working on at the moment...so he may release it when he's done.

hes gotta talk to me first before 5.0 gets an alpha. I gotta know what my job is, graphics-wise. Im not sure what exactly he needs as of yet...

my pc doesnt connect to internet so how i use the offline version?
im noob in things like this..

umm, I also did the GFX for all the previous versions a swell... I dont remember if I did the way original, but I did everything afterward, I think... I know for sure I did 3, and possibly a 2 somewhere...

I know, I was just saying since I'd been here.
I've seen 2.0, and I don't believe you did 2.0...Can't really remember, but I don't think 2.0 had any Graphics in it...

4.5 doesn't have an offline version, just the organizer...and frankly, 4.5 isn't very friendly with non-internet users. We're hoping to make 5.0 much more friendly in that department.

Hello everyone! Just thought I would keep you posted on scrive!

For those who don't want to read it al and just want the jyst of things:

- Were working on scrive 5.0 it will have online and offline capabilities
- We have our newest programmer working on 4.5 for you guys so we can keep that up to date while were working hard on 5.0
- 4.5 will now have save and save as options.
- All scripts will be back in 4.5 including some new ones!!
- Look for 5.0 alpha soon! It will have a few new features but dont expect too much until 5.0 full which will be stock full of new features!!
- 5.0 will be the last in the series of scrive for a long time so we may work on getting scripts in scrive now. We are working hard on 5.0 to make it the best it can be and even adding user ideas into the program!

Updates:
We are in the works on Scrive 5.0! Scrive 5.0 will be both offline and online for those who do not have a internet connection or have a slow connection.

Any who we have been working hard on 5.0 and have had very little time for 4.5. But rest assured we have out our new programmer to the test!! He is working on the newest update for 4.5!

In this update will be a new save and save as option. Save will simply save the script in the my documents/scrive/scripts directory for like: Script Name - Author.rtf(.rtf makes it more compatible with the scripts). And im sure you can guess what the save as option is.

This update will also include all scripts and new ones! Since the database crash happened back in version 4.4 release 4 we lost most the VX scripts in the database. Those will all be back in 4.5 along with a few new scripts!

As for the future of scrive! Look out for 5.0 alpha coming to you guys soon! It will be packed full of new features once 5.0 Full is release but for the alpha just expect something small and a few new features . Also Scrive 5.0 will be the last in the series for a long while so we can finally work on getting scripts in scrive. That is why 5.0 is taking so long is because we are working hard on making it the best it can be with as many features as possible and even user suggested features!!

Question. Can you have it save it in the scrive directory under scripts?
Lots of people throw it on a flashdrive and would like to bring it with. Some places i go have my docs locked.

Idea:
You can have an option that asks you on startup where your scrive files are.

EX:
Where are your scripts for scrive?
[Docs] [In scrive]

That is a great idea and it can be done I'm sure very easily. Ill talk to my programmer about it . Also as for your question the Scrive folder is already in my documents for updates etc, so why not just put it there you know?! The reason we have the scrive folder in my documents is for vista users. Vista hates when programs use the program files folder cause of security issues and all that.

Scrive 5.0 Has Arrived!!!

It is here everyone! With all our hard effort we have finally been able to get a stable enough version of 5.0 for you!! We will call this release 5.0 Alpha simply because its no where close to done and it is a bit buggy. It has the basic Scrive features and a few new ones. When I say few I mean few! You can see the features in the feature tab below. Do not expect much but Scrive 5.0 is a new milestone for Scrive!

Features in Scrive 5.0 Alpha

NOTE: Some things you see in the alpha may be enabled but do nothing! This is because those features are not suppose to be enabled just leave it be . Colors is one of those too we are waiting on the new backgrounds before we add that in![/b]

NEW GUI!! - If you havent looked at the screenshots look, im sure you will be amazed!! With 5.0 comes a new GUI. With the new GUI will come new backgrounds, a new icon, new save icons etc. All the icons in there now are temporary.

Online Mode - We kept the online function from 4.0 series so you guys dont have to download updates every script we add. As of now online functions do not work with 5.0 but you can experience the offline version of scrive!!

Offline Mode- With scrive 5.0 comes offline or online capabilities no need for you to do anything either!

Automatically detects connection - That is right Scrive 5.0 automatically detects if your connected to the net if you arent will go to offline mode for you, if you are then online mode it is! You can then chose to use online or offline mode as you please.

Save and Save as Option - Save will simply save the script in the my documents/scrive/scripts directory for like: Script Name - Author.rtf(.rtf makes it more compatible with the scripts). And im sure you can guess what the save as option is.

Planned 5.0 Features

Here are more ideas were planning on putting in 5.0 including a user created feature!! Not all these features may be added but they were all thought about!

New Program Icons - New EXE Icon and Icons for like save, save as etc...

Automatic updates - We kept the auto updates dont worry! Alpha doesnt include the auto updates since its only alpha and there is no need for it as of now. The updates form is being constantly updated and rewritten to make it the best possible!

Tip of the day - Like many programs of this type a tip will pop up every time you start scrive. The tip will change every time you start Scrive. Dont worry you can disable it in the settings!!

Search - Were bringing back search!! I bet you wondered where did it go in 4.0?! 3.0 had it then bam it was gone. Well among the addition of search comes advanced Search!!

Advanced Search(User submitted idea** May be possible) - Well we all know the search function in 3.0 was a bit on the down side but on 5.0 it will be better with the addition of advanced search! Basically this will allow users to filter search results. EG. SDK required scripts non sdk required scripts, Script Type Filter and more!

RMXP Unlimited Partnership!

Upon the release of Scrive 5.0 you will notice something new! The copyright says RMXP Unlimited, that's weird isn't it?! Scrive is now apart of RMXP Unlimited. We will add many features for RMXP Unlimited but it will still be a public based program. This means anyone can use it but still RMXP Unlimited features will be inside. I dont want to get into too much detail without knowing what Marked wants me to give out on the partnership with scrive but I will tell you this. Adding script will never be easier for RMXP Unlimited users!

A little update:

Formless seems to be busy lately I guess who knows (he never replies to my instant messages at all really) so 5.0 has been brought to a complete halt. Who knows if we will continue it or not its up to Formless if he wants to keep on keeping on really. Sorry if you guys really wanted a 5.0 to see where its going but I honestly can not tell you what is happening. I will continue to update 4.5 as much as possible and hopefully formless will come back to working on scrive .
